Figs & Ginger Jewelry

Figs & Ginger is run by a husband & wife team that make jewelry from recycled/reclaimed silver & gold and work out of a passive solar studio. I have admired their necklaces and earrings in the past, but I am pleased to report after a visit to their site today it appears that they are preparing to make a wedding line of jewelry premiering in June 2008. I am excited to see what it will look like. In the meantime, here's a couple of my favorite pieces by them.

Waterfall Bath Line

These beautiful low V.O.C. bath vanities from Waterfall have been featured all over the place lately. I am using the "Twenty One" model in my current bath project for my residential design class at SFSU.

iWood

TING Repurposed Seat belts

Made from deadstock & recycled seatbelts, made by TING. Sold at Reform School. This is the first I have seen of the printed seat belt series. I like them. I think the silkscreen print softens the seat belt's industrial look.

Feather Earrings

They measure about 2in long and have recycled sections of chain and silver feathers. Buy them at Paper Planes.

Gabrielle Cardigan

Here's a nice re-use/re-purpose clothing item for a "new" Spring layering piece from Sodafine. In their words, it's a "sailor inspired short sleeve zippered cardigan with deep fold over pockets. Each one is one of a kind and reconstructed from two vintage sweaters. fiber: mixed" by Preloved
